1. Please follow the guidelines for the Convention Policies, found in the Convention Policy area of
our website.
2. Please be able to fit your cosplay through the convention doors. For the safety of you and others
in the case of evacuation.
3. No exposed gentiles or nipples. If you can’t wear it to a public beach, you shouldn’t wear it here.
Band-Aid police will be present. If you’re wearing a skintight suit please consider wearing
something over the crotch area, or a cover. You may be asked to cover up if you are found to be
too public, though this will not be considered for cosplay contests, and you will not lose points.
4. Please wear shoes! Though if you are unable to get/make invisible shoes, you may remove them
for photos. They will be ignored by the judging staff if you inform them it is for regulation needs.
5. Prop weapons should follow within these set rules, but maybe rejected at our discretion.
a. Real weapons, live steal, and decorative fakes are not allowed.
b. No pieces of real weapons may be used on props. -ie no barrels, no pins, no real hilts.
c. If your prop is a bow, please do not allow the tension of the string strong enough to propel
anything.
d. If you are bringing arrows, use foam tips. Sharp/hard tips will need to be removed and left in
a safe contained place outside of the convention area.
e. If your prop is a gun of any sort, please include an orange tip, and no actual firing
mechanisms. If you are using a prop weapon that shoots foam bullets, please do not include
any, or incapacitate the firing mech.
f. No live ammo, or metal cases please.
g. If your weapon is a blade, please do not sharpen it to the point of cutting.
h. If your weapon looks too realistic, you may be asked to leave it in your car or your room. If
you need it for the contest, please include photos of both the prop, and of you holding the
prop. Points will not be taken away if you have an exclusion card.
i. When arriving at the convention, please have your props checked in immediately. You will be
given an identifier to show your weapon has been checked. If you cannot reach con-ops, and
you enter through a secured door, security may check you, or escort you to the con-ops. If
con-ops reject your weapon, you will be escorted off the property with the item in question
and allowed back in after leaving the weapon elsewhere. You will be given an exclusion card
for cosplay contests if the item in question does not fit in the guidelines.
j. All props for the cosplay prop contest must be present and fall within the guidelines set here, props will not be judged through photos.
6. Cosplay is not consent, please do not touch/take photos without consent of the person.
7. Please no rough housing with weapons, or actual fighting -except in the foam fighting arena. Posing and dynamic posing is completely fine though.
